on the link that songbird22 gave ^^^, there is a very well thought out map of time-travel concerning ron and DD, if i wasn't too gullible i'd believe in it 101%

RON DID NOT PLAY THE KING PEOPLE! I don't get it, I mean that is a very well written thing and all that, but seriously they base everything off of how b/c ron was directing the chess game that he was the freaking king piece...um no! He was the knight!... and the ppl when they play...or wizards and witches more like...they do not take the place of the king player when they play and direct the game. So really i do like some of their points but come on. RON IS NOT THE KING. geeze!

actually moony, if you read that they write the essay as ron being the KNIGHT, they write it as DD being the King, maybe you didn't read it all the way?

no, i did, it's like...ron's the knight and then he's in charge of the game and then they throw DD on for the king and then say that bc ron was in charge of the game that he is king and therefore he's dumbledore...that's what it said to me anyhow maybe i didn't read it right though *going back for another read through*

perhaps some things are meant to happen, maybe by not saving Sirius something will happen in the books to come, theres still 2 more books we don't know why things happen.
and maybe something horrible happens in bok 6 or 7 that he has to go back to change it, who knows, we'll have to wait and see

He couldn't change it because it already happened that way. He could only do what he did. Am I making sense?

actually you don't make sense to me, why is it that you think that you can't change history if you go back far enough? harry and hermione did it to save buckbeak in PoA, i don't see why dumbledore couldn't...

they only saved him because they had already. It could work with a way of thinking about time travel but not the one JK portrayed in PoA. It makes your head hurt I know.

well maybe i can't think how to answer your statement cause it confuses me thinking bout time travel, i think you should ask the people here, they always seem to have an answer, who knows, they might even make a believer outta you: www.livejournal.com/community/unplottables/5231.html#cutid1ask them first, then tell me what you think

Ask them what? I'm not denying the general theory. I'm just saying that he can't change things if he does go back.

if you go back and change something (as long as your past self doesn't recognize you or touch you) you can change history, think about "Back to the Future", history changed in that, i don't see why if you go back in time and do something, that the future will change (ex. again sorry for using but i'm firm to it, buckbeak) if you say it already happened, then what's the use of harry and hermione even going back in the first place if he was already saved????and why would hermione even need the time-turner to get to her classes if she's already been there and done that?? time travel is crazy
