The Goddess J.K. Rowling reported that someone was either going to transfer into Hogwarts or someone was going to change houses. She also said that there would be no American's come to Hogwarts, so that pretty much finite's the transfer student debate. And another thing says that book six and two have links. Also, she said that something that wasn't in book two that was in movie two would be important.
This is where my insane, yet totally obvious theory comes in:
Ginny will be moved to Slytherin house in book six.
How do I think this?
1) Her face when Mrs. Weasley congratulate's her looks a bit guilty. It's as if she's saying "oh, Gods, to think I almost got placed in Slytherin!"
2) She was able to speak parseltongue to get into the Chamber of Secrets and to control the Basilisk. I'm not saying that she is the heir of Slytherin, but she has this power transmition thing like what Voldemort did to Harry with the snake-speak.
3) Ginny was an important character in the second book, which would give a valid link to the sixth book.
Anyone care to add anything?

I don't quite follow you. Mrs w was congragulating her on what? And she could speak parceltongue because Voldie was possessing her. And JK said that something small in book two would become important.

No, Ginny went with Harry, Ron, Hermione, Neville, and Luna to TRY and rescue the Animagus Black. That's not smart, therefore there's no way she could transfer to Slytherin. I would think possibly Luna could transfer to Gryffindor.

I agree with bella on both these(it was a bit silly for harry to go to the D.O.M.) . Besides, the only reason she spoke parselmouth is 'cause T.R. was possessing her. She didn't have a clue what she was doing.

Hmm, I was thinking, does Luna really belong in Ravenclaw? Because Luna really doesn't have wit. I don't think Luna really belongs in any of the houses.

^ oo, don't doubt Luna's inteligence! Luna's wise in a way that someone like Hermione could never be 'cus she has the ability to see beyond the obvious and think for herself. No, she belongs right where she is.
Of COURSE Ginny looked embarresed: her mother just said "oh I'm so pround of my little baby" in front of the whole school! (After making a scene that she didn't want to be at all involved in in the first place.) And about the parseltongue, like people said, that was only 'cus she was possesed. Besides, Harry can speak it, and that doesn't put him in Slytherin.
I don't really believe this rumor that someone will switch houses, where did it come from anyway. I think it's just people making things up.

If someone does switch houses, it will either be Crabbe or Goyle in my opinion.

Luna is absolulty packed with information. Sure it might be myth and legend but there are people who study that and get Dr. degrees in Myth. Are they not smart? They are ad so is Luna. She isn't fact and figure smart like Hermione she is Myth and Legend smart. Do you know what she might also be correct on a lot of counts. Luna will most definalty stay put. I doubt Ginny will move too. What the others are saying about Tom Riddle posseing her is right. Not to mention in the book CS she is described as embaressed not guilty. Just cause the actress can't pull of an embarresed look does not mean she is a Slytherin. I think someone will transfer in. especialy since there are a lot of rumors going around that a student will come to Hogwarts older than 11.

Hmm, I was thinking, does Luna really belong in Ravenclaw? Because Luna really doesn't have wit. I don't think Luna really belongs in any of the houses. Hey, that's mean! Luna is smart and belongs to Ravenclaw 100%. And I don't think Ginny will go to Slytherin, either. I think probably the one to change houses will be someone who was in their first year in OotP. Think about it - if the Sorting Hat made a mistake, they probably realised it in time. But, on the other hand - was it a mistake after all? Maybe Dumbledore estimated that this someone would be better off in another house - perhaps because of his/her safety, and not necessarily because he/she belongs there? Anyway, for all we know, it could be someone we never met before. Someone the Book Two rumor has nothing to do with. But I have my own theory: We are totally neglecting the possiblity of someone transfering into Hogwarts. It doesn't have to be student exchange. My idea is that will be Gabrielle Delacour, Fleur's younger sister. Remember Fleur found a job in London. Maybe her family decided to move so they can spend more time with their daughter. Gabrielle would, in that case, probably be either in Harry's year or Ginny's year. What do you think?

Luna is smart. she belongs there...but a move to gryff would be interesting...
i think that ginny could move...but to slytherine i dont know bc she hates the dark side, she went to the mom to fight for sirius...and oh yea SHE LIKES HARRY POTTER. but that doesn't mean she can't go into another house....hmmmm i like this bc it does connect books two and six....wow!

No, Ginny perfectly fits in as a Gryffindor! She used to be a bit frightened but she's actually very cool. Besides, all the Weasleys went to Gryffindor. Why break the tradition?
