The title is just that. I'm going to post all my short fics on this thread. All of them, I make up as I go along (including my past ficcys) so I never know what they sound like. Hope you like this one.
Ice. Numbness that collided with my body was collossal. No feeling in my hands, my feet, my heart. A sense of forboding drew my nearer to the evil, until the insanity overcame me. I screamed. I screamed my defeat to the world, yet a sound never escaped my lips. The pressure is pushing me down, down underneath the water until breath is snatched away. I can't think about anything except the pain that is swaying my body deeper into the abyss.
Waking up suddenly, a cold sweat breaks on my face. Insomnia was becoming poison, slipping through the cracks in every bedroom, not minding the age. I sense my brother's heavy breathing beside me, knowing his dreams are just as unstable. That is the only way to describe this time. Unstable.
Tip-toeing out of the room, I don't know where I'm going. The quiet chills my bones. I hear voices. Terrified, yet joyful voices. Curosity overpowers me, dragging me toward the door. "I c-cannot believe it." I hear my mother's voice. I cower. "This is not happening."
"Of course it is, they're dead. Dead!" A strong, male voice weakens, quavering with every passing word. "Lily and James,"
Stepping away from the door, shock paralyzes my body. No, I plead with myself, battling the range of emotions I feel. They were protected.
"Who's out there?" My mum comes close to the door. It's too late. My sillouette is shined upon, revealing my broken state. "Bill? What are you doing-"
"You're lying!" I burst out, screaming at my mother. Right now I hated her. The hatred that ran through my veins poured out, layering anything and everything. I hated everyone. "You were supposed to protect them."
I never heard a reply. The pounding of my footsteps drowned out any sound that might've penetrated my seclusive ears.
What do you think?
