Well I've just done 2 hours of excessive research on HP stuff. Heres what I found
First PoA has grossed an incredible $92,6 million on it's opening weekend in the US and $114 million overseas in addition to that. Thats $206.600.000 in three days people, now imagine that. The production cost for the movie was $130 million and thats what they earned on friday allone. So good news: they prolly will not stop making the movies cause it's a big source of money, yep.
Now expected cost for the GoF movie is *drumroll* $170 million and this could become more (WB will prolly pay whatever Mike Newell (new director) asks for). Just a little note with $170 million you can make 2 LOTR films. So I hope we can expect a longer less rushed film. For now it's looking good, GoF will not be split in two, it's gonna be a more than 3 hour thing with an intermission. Let's just hope Mike Newell sticks to the Alfonso Cuaron style of making everything a little "cooler", you know what I mean...
Now GoF is actually filming sice end of march and casting did not stop. OK the old cast stays, even John Cleese (Nearly headless Nick) will return (he was not in PoA). New ones are
- Alastor (Mad Eye) Moody played by Brendan Gleeson

Well he looks actually quite good for the role...
- Madame Maxime (Headmisstess of Beauxbatons) played by Frances De La Tour

Uh, she'll need a wigg and lot's of make-up
- Cho Chang (yes she's cast) played by Katie Leung she lives in scotland and her dad's from Hong Kong. Problem is that she never acted before, so no picture..
- On frebruary 4th there was a casting in Sofia (capital of Bulgaria) to find Victor Krum, so he's prolly been cast but no name yet.
- Who else is important? Uh, Igor Karkaroff (no name yet)
- Bagman (no name)
- Barty Crouch junior and senior (idem)
- Fleur Delacour (she has been cast but the name has not been given, never fear it's not Kate Winset, what a relief...)
- Mmmh, Cedric Diggory (has been cast, but no name)
- Oh yes, Lord Voldemort (there was this John Malcowich rumor, but no confirmation)
So (OMG, this will become my longest post ever) release date for the movie is Nov 18th 2005, Warner Brothers made very clear that the date can not be pushed back since the trio is getting to old otherwise.
Now OotP, heah this is looking far away in the future, but there are already some little facts known. The release date is June 2007 (this date can be subject to change but will prolly not for reasons mentioned above). The first person to confirm he's gonna be in the movie was Jason Isaacs (Lucius Malfoy) and Steven Kloves is writing the screenplay for the moment...
OK, to finish we'll do a little calculation exercise, if WB continues making the films until number 7 at the current speed, film 7 will come out in June 2010. This means it'll be filmed in 2009 and Daniel and Emma will be 19, Rupert will be 21. They are supposed to be 17 but the difference is not too big is it...
So people, this for my (little) update, what do ya think? Discuss it, i'll be gone until wednesday cause i have exams now and i'll force myself away from the PC tomorrow...have fun posting your thoughts...
