ok, lets get one thing straight here first...i love Dumbledore, he's one of if not my favourite character in the Harry Potter books, but lets be frank, Harry's pretty cheesed off with him, in some ways justifiably. Do you think their 'relationship' will ever be the same? Any ideas as to how Harry will treat Dumbledore in book 6 and vice versa? Just wondering what everybody else thought, cuz it'd be a shame for them to not have the trust that they used to. Peace Out fcube/ ;D

I don't know if he has yet. He will someday though. Hopefully before he dies. OH i wish I hadn't said that! Now i've jinxed him! Wouldn't it be awful if Dumbledore died before Harry forgave him?

Ok I'm sorry but Harry needs to get over himself and just learn Occlumency. That way he doesn't have to avoid Dumbledore at all and their relationship can be as it was. That way he could always have Dumbledore there when he needed him.

Thats true Aimee, I know that it is 'realistic' for a teenager to be a bit tempermental, but if I wanted realism I probably wouldnt be reading a book about wizards, magical creatures etc.

# 1: No, I don't think it will be the same, and that's the point. I think this is a stepping stone in their relationship; Harry is finally seeing Dumbledore as human, and and can now see him as he really is, instead of as some awesome authority figure/omnipotent.
#2: Actually, JKR mentioned that the reason Harry was being so irritable was because of Voldemort's increasing power over his mind. Because Voldemort was always so "cheesed off", Harry, in a way he didn't understand, was too. I'll try finding the transcript for you.

i think Dumbledore will forgive him. i would go berserk too. but the throwing priceless objects around was not necessary. but i feel sorry for harry cus everything good that happeneds to him gets taked away.(like quidditch, parents, black...whats next. rom and hermione maybe not)

Well, come on. Give Harry a break. He just lost the one person like family to him. That would suck BIG TIME. Imagine that feeling, though. Not being wanted.
I know you think he's got his friends, but I don't think he's come to the maturity level to realize THEY ARE FAMILY. He doesn't understand they pretty much are his family.
And, the original thread: I don't think their relationship will be the same. Personally, I think it'll be stronger. They've come to the point where all secrets are behind.

just because Harry now sees Dumbledore as human doesn't mean he still isn't an awesome authority figure!!! Lol. I think Harry will want to be angry at Dumbledore at the beginning at book 6, but there will be an unsaid understand between them, whether Harry wants it or not!

It'll probably make him angry and throw more stuff around.

I can see it now: ****** Dumbledore sighed heavily as Harry continued his ramage. Harry was oblivious to what he was grabbing, however the next thing seemed soft. "OH NO!" screamed Dumbledore, diving to control Harry's insane attack. "That's Fawkes! I can't fix him!" *****

If anything, before, Ddore wasn't open to having a relationship with harry beyond that which he had with other students. Now, he's been honest, told Harry pretty much everything. They'll work out the kinks, make up, and don't have to hide their affection from each other anymore. Ddore can take more of Sirius's role for Harry, and take more personal interest (perhaps tutor Harry some) in order to fully prepare Harry.

yeah, looks like it could go either way. I'm all for them having a stronger relationship though in book 6 & 7 (if DD makes it that far ) Anyway...they can't fall out, they're the two people who can do the most to stop voldemort!!!

maybe Dumbledore will be more open to harry now that black had died and he felt that it was his fault. he might tell him more secrets that he had been hiding.
