Long time the index did not get updated, well I have an idea...
When the index is complete and double threads are gone you should end up with, say 60 topics. Than the index will be difficult to overlook BUT, what if we gave structure *structure: one of my obsessions* to the index (i mean grouping by for example persons like sirius rumors, snape rumors, marauders rumors. of course another structuring system is possible). I know this will take ages to complete!
Well, what do ya think?

No way....we get into huge discussions about house-elves, for goodness' sake, if we tried clumping topics together we'd have 500 pages per topic. Nooo thanks.

I think I do know what you mean, and the thing is, even a simple thread about James being Seeker can get really really long, it's better not to combine it with, say, James' crush on Lily.

but don't complain, because if you ever bothered to READ the Mods board, Philo, you might have prevented this... I'd read the mods board - but I'm not a mod. Err... I don't think I am anyway. LOL. I know I have modpower over the essay section, but I think that's different. ______________________ As for a suggestion - the only thing that I think will make things less confusing would be to create several indexes for rumors. I'm not 100% sure on how I would organize it and quite frankly its waaaay to late for me to really think about it in depth, but I'd suggest general things like a "Good Guys Book Rumors" and "Bad Guys Book Rumors," then have "Misc. Rumors." The numbering system with just one index will end up in the 100s lol before too long. People always come up with something that's different enough to be catagorized seperately. Not to mention the fact that going back and numbering everything - then numbering all the new thigns (and having to listen to any complaints on things that peole feel should be catagorized differently, etc.) is too much work for all the awesome mods we have. Don't want anyone burnt out!

^ Actually the index has already made a difference. I am locking less and less rumours for being 'double ups' every day. Also keen eyed posters will have noticed that for the first time in a very long time the rumours board is down to 10 pages.
Old threads that are comprehensive and interesting are no longer being deleted (after the no posting for 3 months time lapse), but have been edited (some had pages of chit chat that was off-putting to people wanting to read and discuss the topic), numbered and placed in the index, yet even with retaining these interesting posts we have 3-4 less pages than previously.

I got it when I was only a columnist...Well, if you do, we're taking roll call and I'm not sure yet if you're required to respond, but you should anyways. Oh, and mostly M&M and I are indexing, and if you think either one of us is ready to burn out THAT quickly, you really don't know us.

I already asked her, and she said she doesn't give them to the columnists anymore, so no worries, she can see you've been updating your column anyways. And....so? YOU try living in an 800 population village with no stores or movie theaters and see if you don't get addicted. Just try it, I dare you. This site is the only thing that keeps me from making friends with the cattle.

*rolls eyes* Yes, since posting "here" is such hard work...although, knowing you that'd tear at you until you went back and modified in about 10 paragraphs explaining why and how you were "here" and throwing in some sort of question debating whether or not you were really "here". Anyways, we're supposed to stay on topic here, so...stop it, because I can't stop talking until everyone else has...meh, you'd all be the same way if your only conversation partners were corn stalks...and it's not even time for them to be up yet!
